Glucose Measurement in the Operating Room: More Complicated than It Seems

Just came across this article on the use of glucose monitoring devices in operating rooms. I do not have access to the journal so can’t write about final conclusions but the abstract indicates that Home glucose meters may have problems, due to reproducibility and accuracy, when used in operation theaters. Home glucose meters are the most successful biosensors in the market and are used as an example of ‘potential’ far-reaching-impact of biosensors hence the conclusions of the study should be relevant to any other biosensor.
